Roger Stone claims Biden violated agreements regarding Ukraine and NATO

Roger Stone, a Republican political strategist and former advisor to Donald Trump, has claimed that the Biden administration violated international agreements by encouraging Ukraine's pursuit of NATO membership. Stone stated on the social media platform X that both the Budapest Memorandum and the Minsk Agreements included understandings that the United States would not push Ukraine toward NATO membership or station NATO missiles directed at Russia on Ukrainian territory.

Stone argued that these actions have forced Russia to defend itself. He also leveled allegations against political activist Laura Loomer, suggesting that Zelenskyy or someone acting on his behalf is paying her, which Stone claims has caused her to change her perspective in a way that harms Donald Trump.

The Budapest Memorandum, signed in 1994 by Ukraine, Russia, the United States, and the United Kingdom, was tied to Ukraine's decision to relinquish its nuclear arsenal following the collapse of the Soviet Union. The agreement committed signatories to respect Ukraine's independence, sovereignty, and existing borders. The Minsk Agreements, established in 2014 and 2015, were designed to end the conflict in the Donbas region through ceasefires and political reforms.
