Roger Waters releases 'Comfortably Numb Re-Imagined' in support of Palestine

Roger Waters, co‑founder of Pink Floyd, issued a nine‑minute re‑imagined version of the 1979 song “Comfortably Numb.” The new track, titled “Comfortably Numb Re‑Imagined,” adds English and Arabic verses performed with Palestinian singer Mona Miari and includes a new section called “Hind’s Lullaby,” written in memory of six‑year‑old Hind Rajab, who was killed with her family in Gaza in January 2024. A video accompanying the song intersperses the performance with footage filmed in the Gaza Strip.

All proceeds from the release will be donated to the Palestine Children’s Relief Fund. In an interview with WIRED, Waters said the song is meant to remain a “prophetic” statement of right versus wrong and denied accusations of anti‑Semitism, stressing that his criticism is directed at the Israeli government and Zionism, not at Jewish people.
