Rogers and Quebecor sign 12-year French-language NHL broadcast deal

Rogers Communications and Quebecor have entered into a 12-year sublicensing agreement to provide French-language national NHL broadcasts in Canada. Under the deal, TVA Sports and TVA Sports Direct will distribute up to 350 regular season games per year.

The agreement includes an increase in coverage for the Montréal Canadiens, with 32 regular season games scheduled per season compared to 22 under the previous arrangement. Quebecor will also maintain exclusive French-language rights for all Montréal Canadiens Stanley Cup playoff games.

Other broadcasters will share the remaining coverage. Amazon Prime Video is set to broadcast seven regular season Canadiens games in French next season, while Bell Media’s RDS will broadcast the remaining 45 regular season games. This follows Rogers’ previous 12-year, $11 billion national rights extension with the NHL.
