Rogliano expands urban art project with new murals
The Gulìa Urbana project has expanded its urban art initiatives in Rogliano, Cosenza, introducing new murals designed to foster community identity and regenerate public spaces. The project features contributions from both Italian and international artists who interpret local history, memory, and contemporary themes.
Key interventions include a mural by Irish artist Aches, which focuses on mental health through complex chromatic layers and multiplied figures. This marks the fourth installment in the project’s ongoing exploration of mental health. In the city center, Edoardo Ettorre reinterpreted a 1991 mural by local artist Salvatore Diana, creating a contemporary link to the town’s artistic heritage. Additionally, the artist Vesod produced a monumental work reinterpreting the ‘Crucifixion of Saint Peter’ by integrating elements specific to Rogliano. In the Cuti district, Marta Lapeña created a piece dedicated to the local culinary tradition of eggplant.
