Rogério Caboclo emerges as potential São Paulo FC presidential candidate

The upcoming presidential election for São Paulo FC, scheduled for the first half of December for the 2027-2029 term, has faced a political shift following the emergence of Rogério Caboclo as a potential candidate.

Caboclo, a life council member and former president of the CBF, was recently featured in a leaked video alongside influential internal political figures, including the President of the Deliberative Council, Olten Ayres de Abreu. Ayres de Abreu released a note stating, “Olten and his political group confirm their support for Rogério Caboclo's candidacy for the presidency of São Paulo. It is a legitimate political position, built from convictions and dialogue with different members of the Deliberative Council.”

The potential candidacy of Caboclo—who was previously removed from his role at the CBF in 2021 following allegations of harassment—has complicated the succession landscape, involving supporters of the current president, Harry Massis, and various opposition blocs.
