Rohan Rane sentenced to 20 years in Paris for leading international child abuse ring

A Paris court has sentenced 29-year-old Rohan Rane to 20 years in prison for leading an international criminal network known as CVLT. The group used the Discord platform to target vulnerable children in the United States, Britain, and Canada, coercing them into producing violent and sexual videos.

Prosecutors described the group as being driven by nihilism, racism, and neo-Nazi aesthetics. Rane, an Indian national who had moved to France to study, was found guilty of offenses including extortion as part of an organized gang, as well as acts of torture and barbarity. The court held the trial behind closed doors due to the sensitive nature of the child abuse involved.

While approximately 20 victims were identified, many were unable to be contacted. At least six victims, now young adults, filed official complaints. The investigation revealed that the group coerced minors into roles described in court documents as being “slaves” to the organization. At least three other members of the group have been arrested in the United States.
