Rohini Court lawyers strike and bar police entry over alleged advocate assault

Lawyers at Rohini Court in Delhi have announced a strike and a ban on police entry to the court premises following the alleged physical assault of an advocate. The Rohini Court Bar Association called for a complete abstention from judicial work on Monday to protest the manhandling of advocate Kamaldeep at the Mahendra Park Police Station on September 29.

The association claims that although senior police officials had previously assured the Bar's executive committee that appropriate action would be taken against the involved officers, a case was instead registered against the advocate. The Bar Association described this development as a breach of trust and a form of intimidation against the legal fraternity, stating that the dignity and professional independence of advocates must be protected.
