Rohit Pawar alleges cover-up in Ajit Pawar plane crash investigation

Rohit Pawar, a Nationalist Congress Party (SP) legislator, has accused the Maharashtra state government of attempting to suppress the investigation into the plane crash that killed former Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar.

The crash occurred on January 28, 2026, at Baramati Airport when a VSR Aviation aircraft caught fire during landing. Seven months after the incident, Rohit Pawar criticized the lack of progress in the State CID investigation and questioned why the case has not been transferred to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).

Pawar also raised concerns regarding suspicious financial transactions involving VSR Aviation. He claimed that the company received 145 crore rupees between January and March, noting that significant payments were released immediately before and after the crash. He has promised to present evidence regarding these allegations during a press conference on September 4.
