Rohit Saraf’s ‘Heer Ranjha’ to Begin September Shoot with New Leading Lady

The romantic drama Heer Ranjha, starring Rohit Saraf, is set to start filming in the first week of September. Directed by Sajid Ali and written by his brother Imtiaz Ali, the project is being produced by Ektaa R Kapoor. Earlier reports that child actress Sara Arjun would play the female lead have been dismissed; the makers are now seeking a newcomer, though no name has been announced.

The film, announced on Valentine’s Day, retells the classic legend of Heer and Ranjha and follows Sajid Ali’s previous romance Laila Majnu, which gained a cult following after a successful re‑release. All attention now turns to the upcoming shoot and the identity of the new leading lady.
