BCCI denies retirement rumors before India‑England 3rd ODI at Lord's

The third one‑day international between India and England will be played on 19 July at Lord's, with the series level at 1‑1. India’s squad for the decider includes captain Shubman Gill, opener Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and other regulars.

BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia dismissed media reports that the match could be Sharma’s final ODI, stating, “There has been no discussion that Rohit will be playing his last match at Lord’s.” He affirmed that Rohit remains a regular member of the Indian ODI team.

All‑rounder Washington Sundar was ruled out with a right hamstring injury; Harsh Dubey was added as his replacement. The board did not comment on Sharma’s role in the 2027 World Cup plan, leaving speculation ongoing.

India have not won an ODI at Lord's since 2004, making the fixture a chance to end a 22‑year drought while the teams battle for the series.
