Rohit Sharma reaches 12,000 ODI runs and scores century

Indian batter Rohit Sharma has joined the elite 12,000-run club in One Day International (ODI) cricket. During the second ODI against West Indies in Guwahati, Sharma reached the milestone in his 282nd innings, making him the second-fastest player to achieve the feat, trailing only Virat Kohli.

Sharma became the third Indian to reach 12,000 ODI runs, following Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli. In the same match, he recorded his 35th ODI century, scoring 101 runs off 75 balls. He shared a 255-run opening partnership with Shubman Gill, which equaled the record for the second-highest opening stand for India in ODIs.

India successfully chased a target of 406 to win the match by eight wickets, securing a 2-0 series lead. The victory marks one of the highest successful run chases in ODI history.
