Rohit Sharma sets ODI records as India reaches Asian Games final
Indian cricketer Rohit Sharma has achieved two major milestones in One Day International (ODI) cricket. During a match against the West Indies in Pursabara, Sharma became the first ODI batsman to hit 200 sixes in a single country. He surpassed Chris Gayle, who previously held the record with 147 sixes in a single nation. Additionally, Sharma became the third Indian batsman to cross 12,000 runs in ODI cricket, joining the ranks of Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli.
In separate cricket news, the Indian men's team defeated Sri Lanka by 124 runs in the semi-finals of the Asian Games held in Nishin, Japan. Chasing a target of 170, Sri Lanka was bowled out for 45 runs in 9.5 overs. Ishan Kishan top-scored for India with 80 runs, while Jasprit Bumra, Axar Patel, and Abhishek Sharma each claimed two wickets. This victory sets up an India vs. Pakistan final, following Pakistan's six-wicket win over Bangladesh in the other semi-final.
