The incident occurred as the team was returning to their hotel in Thiruvananthapuram after the match at Greenfield International Stadium.

Footage circulating on social media shows Sharma losing his footing on the metallic bus stairs. Security personnel and support staff were seen quickly assisting him to regain his balance. While the fall caused momentary concern among teammates, including Virat Kohli, there have been no official reports of any serious injury to the veteran batter.

The match itself saw India take a 1-0 lead in the three-game series. Shubman Gill and Virat Kohli both scored centuries to help chase down a 296-run target, while Kuldeep Yadav contributed a four-wicket haul to restrict the West Indies. The next match in the series is scheduled for September 30 in Guwahati.
