Rohit Sharma to host new television show amid ODI cricket future speculation

Former Indian cricket captain Rohit Sharma is set to make his television debut as the host of ‘Family Full House’, a new entertainment program from Sony Pictures Networks India. The show is scheduled to premiere on September 19, 2026, on Sony Entertainment Television and Sony LIV.

Despite this move into entertainment, Sharma is expected to continue his professional cricket career in the One Day International (ODI) format. While he has already retired from T20I and Test cricket, his participation in the 2027 ODI World Cup remains a subject of speculation due to his age and recent form.

BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia has dismissed rumors regarding Sharma’s retirement from the ODI format, citing his strong recent performances, including a score of 130 in a recent match. Sharma has maintained a solid record in 2026, scoring 379 runs across nine ODIs.
