Rohit Sharma's international cricket future remains a personal decision, says Matthew Hayden

Former Australian cricketer Matthew Hayden has commented on the uncertain international future of Indian batter Rohit Sharma. At 39 years old, Sharma has already retired from Test cricket and T20 internationals, leaving his participation in One Day Internationals (ODIs) as the primary question regarding his career.

Hayden noted that questions regarding longevity are common for veteran players, citing previous instances with cricketers such as Virat Kohli and Gautam Gambhir. He emphasized that the decision to continue playing at the highest level depends on whether Sharma maintains the physical and mental energy required to handle a demanding international schedule.

Despite recent speculation following a series against England, Sharma demonstrated his continued capability by scoring 138 runs off 110 deliveries in the third ODI of that series. Sharma currently holds significant records in the ODI format, including being third all-time in runs scored for India.
