Rohit Sharma's selection for 2027 ODI World Cup questioned by ex‑cricketer

Manjrekar, speaking on Sony Sports, noted Sharma is 39 and would be the first batter to appear in a World Cup at age 40 or older, raising fitness concerns after recent hamstring issues.

He highlighted Sharma's recent form – 143 runs in three ODIs against Afghanistan at an average above 47 – but suggested alternatives such as Virat Kohli, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Ishan Kishan or Ruturaj Gaikwad.
