Rojas Clemente Market completes major renovation in Valencia

The Rojas Clemente Market in Valencia has completed a major renovation phase aimed at improving energy efficiency, climate control, and building safety. The most recent stage of work involved an investment of over 707,000 euros, bringing the total municipal expenditure for the market over the last three years to more than one million euros.

Improvements include the installation of a new air conditioning system with heat recovery and air renewal capabilities, LED lighting with control systems, and mechanical ventilation in the basement. The project also addressed critical safety concerns by upgrading the low-voltage electrical installation and implementing comprehensive fire protection measures, including new fire hydrants, extinguishers, detection and alarm systems, and a dedicated pumping team.

Valencia Mayor María José Catalá visited the facilities to highlight the transformation of the building, noting that the market previously suffered from significant structural issues and required propping. The renovation has transitioned the space from a deteriorating facility into a modernized venue with nearly full occupancy, including new spaces for gourmet shops and a forthcoming bookstore.
