Rojin Kabaiş investigation: Family lawyers submit new requests

Lawyers representing the family of Rojin Kabaiş, a 21-year-old student at Van Yüzüncü Yıl University who disappeared in September 2024, have submitted new requests to the Van Chief Public Prosecutor's Office. The family's legal team, including Abdurrahman Karabulut and Şahin Cangüleç, is challenging previous attempts to frame the case as a suicide.

Following a forensic report indicating that DNA from two different males was found in the victim's body, investigations have expanded. Authorities have begun collecting DNA samples from various individuals, including university and dormitory security personnel.

The legal team has requested a re-examination of License Plate Recognition (LPR) records for over 7,000 vehicles, as well as the seizure and analysis of mobile phone data (HTS and base station records) for identified drivers. Additionally, they have requested investigations into maritime vessels and have sent a formal inquiry to Meta to retrieve correspondence from WhatsApp, Instagram, and Facebook related to the case.
