Rojin Kabaiş investigation: Expert report reveals suspicious findings
An 84-page expert report has been released regarding the investigation into the death of Rojin Kabaiş, a 21-year-old Van Yüzüncü Yıl University student who disappeared on September 27, 2024, and was found dead near Lake Van 18 days later.
The report highlights several suspicious findings based on digital data, HTS records, and security footage. Key points include a security guard spending 48 seconds in the bushes near where Kabaiş’s phone was later discovered, and a discrepancy in a roommate's testimony regarding Kabaiş's location. Additionally, investigators are looking into a person named Mehmet Çelik, with whom Kabaiş had exchanged messages, as his phone signaled from the same base station as hers.
Further suspicious activity was noted in Bardakçı village, where footage allegedly shows three individuals moving a heavy object from a white vehicle into a house. In response to these findings, the Van Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has conducted searches, seized mobile phones, and collected DNA samples from suspects to advance the investigation.
