Rojin Kabaiş Justice Commissions release investigation report

The Rojin Kabaiş Justice Commissions have released a comprehensive report documenting the two-year investigation into the death of 21-year-old university student Rojin Kabaiş. Kabaiş disappeared in Van in September 2024 after leaving her dormitory and was found dead on the shores of Lake Van 18 days later.

During a press conference at the Divriği Cultural Association in Beyoğlu, the family's lawyer, Abdurrahman Karabulut, criticized the investigation, stating that “the material truth has clearly not been investigated effectively and holistically to date.”

Commission volunteer Hivda Selen presented the report, which chronologically tracks official statements, findings, and the justice demands of the family and women's groups. Selen noted that legal processes appeared to be moving only due to increasing social pressure, citing the release of a forensic report (ATK) that had reportedly been withheld for a year as an example of progress driven by public outcry.
