Roku hikes streaming device prices up to 50% amid AI-driven component shortages

Roku announced price increases across its streaming hardware lineup, with the Roku Ultra climbing from $100 to $150 and the basic Streaming Stick rising from $30 to $40. Other models saw similar jumps, such as the Streaming Stick Plus moving to $60 and the Streambar SE to $150. The company attributed the hikes to shortages of memory and other components caused by the rapid expansion of artificial‑intelligence data centers. A Roku executive said, "We are doing our best to have great deals like what we have going on right now," and CEO Anthony Wood added that the firm aims to keep its devices competitively priced despite higher costs. Roku also noted a pending $22 billion acquisition by Fox Corporation.
