Balkan cultural institutions launch new seasons and festivals
Various cultural institutions across the Balkans are launching new seasons and festivals. The 25th Festival of Bosnian Herzegovinian Drama has opened in Zenica with the production ‘Mayor or This is a Play about Mujaga Komadina’ by the National Theatre Mostar.
In Belgrade, the Serbian National Theatre (SNP) is preparing for its 166th season, featuring nine premieres and an investment of 73 million dinars for new orchestral instruments. Meanwhile, the FEST film festival has announced its 2026 program, which will include over 100 films and new thematic segments.
Other notable events include the 8th edition of the ‘Rokumentarni dani’ music documentary film festival in Podgorica, focusing on youth culture, and the opening of the new season at the National Theatre Sarajevo with the premiere of ‘Gogol from Ashes’. Additionally, Sarajevo is hosting film screenings and an international multimedia exhibition titled ‘Together’ at the Collegium Artisticum gallery.
