Roland Kaiser discusses career and language evolution in ZDF documentary

German Schlager icon Roland Kaiser discussed his career and views on societal changes in the ZDF documentary ‘Terra Xplore: Warum lieben wir Schlager?’. During a conversation with moderator Leon Windscheid, the 74-year-old singer, who has sold over 90 million records, addressed the evolution of his music and language.

Kaiser stated that he aims to entertain rather than lecture or diminish his audience. Regarding linguistic shifts, he noted that ‘gendering was never a problem for me,’ acknowledging that language evolves over time.
