Roland to open first US flagship store in New York City

Roland will open its first standalone United States flagship store in early October in Manhattan’s Meatpacking District. Located at 414 West 14th Street, the 9,000-square-foot space serves as the company’s third international flagship, following locations in London and Tokyo.

The retail space will feature dedicated sections for pianos, drums, guitars, synthesizers, DJ technology, and Roland Cloud. It will also showcase products from Roland’s brands, BOSS and Drum Workshop (DW). Notable features include the company’s first and only grand piano showroom, an immersive BOSS Cavern, and a dedicated area for the historic TR-808 Rhythm Composer, which will host sessions regarding its musical legacy.

Technological integration is a key component of the store, which will utilize Roland Soundscapes, an AI-powered musical system that generates compositions based on human movement, MIDI signals, time of day, and outdoor weather conditions. Visitors can book one-on-one appointments to test equipment, attend 30-minute workshops, or receive after-sales training. An invite-only opening ceremony is scheduled for October 10.
