Rolando Jiménez struck by truck in Providencia

Rolando Jiménez, a prominent leader of the Movement for Homosexual Integration and Liberation (Movilh), was struck by a truck on Tuesday afternoon in the Providencia commune of the Metropolitan Region.

The accident occurred around 3:20 PM at the intersection of Avenida Francisco Bilbao and Andacollo. According to reports, the driver of the 3/4 truck fled the scene without providing assistance. Carabineros de Chile subsequently detained the driver.

Jiménez was transported to Hospital Salvador, where he remains conscious but in significant pain. He is undergoing medical examinations to determine the full extent of his injuries. His condition is a cause for concern due to his existing struggle with Parkinson's disease. Movilh has expressed deep concern and support for the activist during his recovery.
