Rolex gang robberies under investigation in Portugal

Portuguese authorities are investigating a series of high-value robberies attributed to an organized group known as the ‘Rolex gang’. The group reportedly targets luxury items such as watches, gold chains, and rings.

In a recent incident near Lisbon Airport, two assailants on motorcycles targeted a BMW, using both a knife and a firearm to threaten the occupants. The robbery resulted in the theft of several Rolex watches and jewelry valued at approximately €100,000. During a subsequent pursuit, one of the suspects died after his motorcycle collided with the victim's vehicle. The deceased suspect has been identified as a Brazilian national.

Separate reports indicate that tourists in Albufeira were also targeted in a robbery involving firearms, during which mobile phones and a watch were stolen.
