Mick Jagger revealed that Robert Smith, frontman of The Cure, contributed backing vocals to the Rolling Stones' 25th studio album, "Foreign Tongues," after a chance meeting at Metropolis Studios in London. The collaboration was described by Jagger as a spontaneous decision when he encountered Smith in the studio, prompting him to invite the veteran musician to “do something” on the record.

The album, recorded in under a month and produced by Andrew Watt, also features cameo appearances by Paul McCartney, Steve Winwood and Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith. Two tracks, “In The Stars” and “Rough And Twisted,” have already been released as singles. "Foreign Tongues" is scheduled for release on July 10 via Polydor/Universal Music and marks the Stones’ follow‑up to 2023’s "Hackney Diamonds."
