Rolling Stones release new album “Foreign Tongues”

The Rolling Stones have issued a new studio album, Foreign Tongues, on 10 July 2026 through Polydor/Universal Music. The 14‑track record was recorded in less than a month at Metropolis Studios in London and produced by Grammy‑winner Andrew Watt, who also worked on the band’s 2023 release Hackney Diamonds. Guest contributors include Paul McCartney, Steve Winwood, Robert Smith of The Cure and Chad Smith of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, while the cover artwork is by American artist Nathaniel Mary Quinn. One of the final recordings of late drummer Charlie Watts appears on the song “Hit Me In The Head.”

Critical response varies. A Polish review rates the album 7 / 10, praising Mick Jagger’s vocal performance but criticizing a uniformly loud, heavily compressed mix that reduces dynamic impact. The review also notes the extensive use of guest musicians and the production style of Andrew Watt.

The release adds to the Stones’ extensive catalog, marking their 25th studio album and underscoring the band’s continued relevance more than six decades after they first formed.
