Rolls-Royce celebrates heritage with Silver Ghost and 1904 10 HP showcases

Rolls-Royce Motor Cars is celebrating the 120th anniversary of the Silver Ghost, the 40/50 H.P. model first introduced at London’s Olympia Motor Show in November 1906. Known for its smooth-running six-cylinder engine, the model established the brand’s reputation for engineering refinement and reliability. Notable historical milestones include chassis 1701, which became the first Rolls-Royce to exceed 100 mph in 1911.

In a separate display of automotive history, the 1904 Rolls-Royce 10 HP, the oldest known surviving model from the partnership of Charles Stewart Rolls and Frederick Henry Royce, was featured at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. The vehicle, which features a 1.8-liter twin-cylinder engine, received the ‘First in Class’ award for the Antique class during the event.
