Rolls-Royce expands engine manufacturing partnerships in Saudi Arabia and India

Rolls-Royce is expanding its industrial footprint in the Middle East and Asia through new manufacturing and supply chain initiatives.

In Saudi Arabia, Rolls-Royce and MAKEEN have signed an Individual License Agreement to enable the first licensed local production of mtu Series 2000 high-speed marine engines. This agreement builds on a 2023 framework and aims to support the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 goals by strengthening domestic industrial capacity and localization of advanced technologies.

In India, Rolls-Royce and Reliance Industries are working to develop a local supplier ecosystem for the Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA) aero-engine program. During the Reliance Industries Supplier Forum 2026, Rolls-Royce executives discussed technology collaboration roadmaps with Indian aerospace manufacturers. The LMW Advanced Technology Centre has confirmed its participation in the effort to build an indigenous defense manufacturing network capable of supporting advanced fighter jet engines.
