Rolls-Royce targets growth via nuclear energy and aerospace

Rolls-Royce is pursuing a growth strategy centered on small modular reactors (SMRs) and the single-aisle commercial jet market. Chief Executive Tufan Erginbilgiç, who has overseen a significant share price increase since January 2023, described the company as a “burning platform” that had previously underperformed against competitors.

The company’s various divisions are seeing diverse drivers of growth. The defense business is benefiting from increased global defense spending, while the power systems division is seeing high demand from data center construction related to AI. Financial reports indicate robust momentum, with H1 2026 revenue rising 26% to £11.3 billion, supported by double-digit growth and margin expansion across civil aerospace, defense, and power systems segments.
