Rolls-Royce unveils retractable yacht bridge concept

Rolls-Royce Power Systems has unveiled its NautIQ Bridge ‘Point Break’ concept at the Monaco Yacht Show. The design aims to solve the spatial challenges faced by yacht designers by reclaiming premium deck space for owners and guests without compromising maritime safety or functionality.

The concept features a dual-purpose bridge architecture. When the vessel is not in transit, the helm controls and displays retract into a pedestal and the floor, transforming the wheelhouse into an open social space for entertainment. When navigation is required, the system is immediately ready for use.

Technical features include a next-generation human-machine interface (HMI) with a vertical display arrangement to optimize space and situational awareness. The system also incorporates a head-up display to project essential navigation information directly into the captain’s field of vision.
