Rolls‑Royce Phantom fitted with Cummins diesel engine

American automotive enthusiast Weston Champlin replaced the original 6.7‑liter V12 in a damaged Rolls‑Royce Phantom with a 5.9‑liter Cummins diesel block taken from a pickup truck. The heavy diesel, weighing about 500 kg, required custom engine mounts, suspension repairs and extensive electronic re‑programming before the limousine could run.

After months of engineering work by Champlin’s team and specialists such as Diesel Conversion Specialists and Airlift Performance, the modified Phantom was road‑tested for 225 km without external assistance, demonstrating that a luxury British limousine can operate with a high‑torque American diesel powerplant.
