Rolls‑Royce shares rise over 5% after profit outlook upgrade

Rolls‑Royce Plc’s shares jumped more than 5% on July 30 after the engineering group reported a 46% increase in first‑half underlying operating profit to £2.5 bn and raised its full‑year forecast to £4.7‑£4.9 bn, well above the previous £4.0‑£4.2 bn range and analyst expectations. Free cash flow for the half‑year rose to £2.0 bn, and the company announced an interim dividend of 6p per share and the completion of a £1.4 bn share buy‑back, part of a planned £7‑9 bn programme through 2028. Chief executive Tufan Erginbilgic said the transformation is delivering stronger margins across civil aerospace, defence and power systems, noting the company’s improved aftermarket performance and demand from data‑center power solutions.
