Roma Capitale approves new collective agreement for municipal employees
The administration of Roma Capitale and trade unions have reached a preliminary agreement on a new Integrated Collective Agreement. This deal is expected to come into effect within approximately one month.
A key feature of the agreement is the expansion of the supplementary salary fund, which will increase from 205 million euros to over 210 million euros. This represents an addition of roughly 6 million euros to support productivity, shifts, and essential service indemnities. Additionally, 5.75 million euros will be allocated toward welfare.
Other provisions include meal vouchers for employees working remotely, generalized hourly flexibility, annual horizontal economic progressions, and new or adjusted indemnities for specific roles. While the economic recognition is welcomed, union representatives have called for clear criteria regarding the distribution of funds and rapid implementation to ensure transparency for workers in essential sectors such as maintenance, registry offices, and socio-sanitary services.
