Roma-Pisa railway service disrupted by trackside fire

A fire near the tracks on the Roma-Pisa railway caused significant travel disruptions on Saturday, August 8. The blaze led to a suspension of service between Alberese and Grosseto to allow firefighters to intervene.

Service was suspended from approximately 1:50 PM until 3:15 PM once the flames were extinguished. The incident affected High Speed, Intercity, and Regional trains, with some travelers experiencing delays of up to three hours and others facing travel time increases of up to 90 minutes. Replacement bus services were activated between Orbetello and Grosseto for regional connections.
