Luka Dončić is hosting a five-day team-building retreat in Slovenia for the Los Angeles Lakers to foster chemistry following significant roster changes. Dončić personally financed the trip, which included a private Bombardier Global 8000 flight for 14 players and staff. The itinerary features basketball training, visits to local restaurants, sightseeing, fishing at Lake Bled, and golf.

The retreat comes amid organizational instability for the Lakers. The franchise has undergone multiple ownership changes, with a recent $12.5 billion deal involving Bob Iger and Josh Kushner. Additionally, internal disputes within the Buss family regarding remaining shares have created uncertainty. Despite these administrative tensions, Dončić has stepped into a prominent leadership role, aiming to unify the squad before the 2026–27 NBA season.
