Roma targets €40 million transfer for Matias Soulé as financial fair‑play deadline looms
Italian club AS Roma is looking to sell Argentine forward Matias Soulé for about €40 million to meet UEFA Financial Fair Play requirements before the 30 June deadline. Saudi Arabian clubs Al‑Ahli and Al‑Ittihad have reportedly offered the full asking price, with potential interest from Al‑Hilal as well.
The sale would generate a plus‑value of roughly €18‑20 million, helping Roma offset recent player departures—Roger Ibáñez to Al‑Ahli (€30 m), Houssem Aouar to Al‑Ittihad (€10.5 m) and João Costa to Al‑Ettifaq (€9 m)—and support other revenue streams such as new international TV‑rights deals. German clubs, notably Borussia Dortmund and Stuttgart, and English side Aston Villa have also shown interest, but the Saudi offers appear most concrete at this stage.
