Romain Gavras holds Greek premiere of ‘Sacrifice’ in Athens

The Greek premiere of the film ‘Sacrifice’, directed by Romain Gavras, took place on October 3 at the Onassis Foundation Stage in Athens. The event was attended by 600 guests, including the director, model and author Emily Ratajkowski, and actor Vincent Cassel.

‘Sacrifice’ features an international cast including Chris Evans, Anya Taylor-Joy, Salma Hayek, and John Malkovich. The film, which previously had its world premiere at the Toronto Film Festival, is a co-production involving Onassis Culture, Heretic, ERT, and EKCOMED. It serves as Romain Gavras’ first English-language project and utilized various Greek locations for filming, including Drama, Santorini, Lavrio, and Athens.

The production is described as a satirical and political allegory that explores themes of faith, sacrifice, and social change through a psychedelic lens.
