Roman Alochin faces Russian police raid and device seizure
Russian law enforcement authorities conducted a house search targeting Roman Alochin, a Z-blogger and former advisor to the governor of the Kursk region. During the raid, officials seized his mobile phone and laptop.
Alochin stated on Telegram that he anticipated the search and clarified that he is acting as a witness in a criminal case involving bomb threats sent to a court email address. He denied any connection to the bitcoin wallet mentioned in the investigation and dismissed allegations regarding drug use.
The Russian Ministry of Justice is currently deciding whether to remove Alochin from the country's “foreign agent” registry. Alochin has previously criticized Kursk Governor Alexander Chinsteyn and argued that the foreign agent law is unconstitutional. He had previously been fined three times under this status in July.
