Roman Anthony nears rehab assignment with Boston Red Sox
Boston Red Sox outfielder Roman Anthony is progressing in his recovery from a wrist injury. According to interim manager Chad Tracy, the 22-year-old has begun hitting against a high-velocity Trajekt pitching machine, which simulates various pitch shapes and speeds.
Tracy indicated that Anthony is “getting closer” to beginning a minor league rehab assignment, though no specific timetable has been established. Anthony has been on the 60-day injured list since early May. The team appears to be taking a cautious approach to ensure he is fully prepared before returning to the lineup during the club's push for a postseason spot.
