Roman artifacts recovered from Danube near Constantine the Great bridge

Historical artifacts have been recovered from the Danube River near the Sucidava-Celei area in Corabia, Romania. The finds were located near the site of a 4th-century bridge constructed by Emperor Constantine the Great.

The recovered items include lead elements used to join stone blocks in Roman construction, as well as a fragment of an amphora. These lead components were specifically used to secure the stones within the bridge's pillar structure, highlighting the advanced engineering of the period.

The artifacts were retrieved with the assistance of archaeologist-diver Iulian Rusu and have been transported to the Corabia Museum for preservation and potential further research.
