A violent domestic incident in Roman, Neamț County, resulted in two deaths on September 29. A 42-year-old woman was fatally stabbed by her partner, a 45-year-old man, in their apartment.

Before committing suicide by jumping from the fourth floor of the building, the man reportedly contacted his mother in Italy and his former wife in Oradea. During these calls, he confessed to the murder and expressed intent to attack the victim's 15-year-old son.

Police were alerted via the 112 emergency number and successfully intercepted the teenager while he was on his way home from school. The minor was taken into protective custody by the Neamț General Directorate for Social Assistance and Child Protection and is reported to be out of danger. The prosecutor from the Neamț Tribunal is investigating the circumstances of the deaths.
