Roman Wilson placed on injured reserve by Pittsburgh Steelers
The Pittsburgh Steelers have placed wide receiver Roman Wilson on injured reserve following a hand injury sustained during a game against the Indianapolis Colts. Wilson, who was experiencing a career-best season with 188 receiving yards and two touchdowns through the first five games, will be unavailable for at least the next four games.
The injury occurred in the second quarter when Wilson attempted to secure a catch. To address the roster vacancy, the Steelers signed running back Lew Nichols from the practice squad to the active roster. Additionally, the team elevated wide receivers Brandon Smith and Brandon Johnson from the practice squad for the upcoming matchup against Tampa Bay.
