Romana Tabak sparks controversy over children's book disposal

Slovak politician Romana Tabak has sparked controversy after filming herself discarding copies of the children's book ‘101 Sea Mermaids and Everything You Need to Know About Them!’ into a trash bin outside the National Council.

Tabak criticized the book for stating that ‘dads bring babies into the world,’ labeling the content as ‘distorted’ and ‘perverted’ ideology targeting children. She claimed to have bought up all available copies from the Panta Rhei bookstore to dispose of them.

Panta Rhei responded to the incident, clarifying that the reference to fathers giving birth is not an ideological statement but a biological fact regarding seahorses, where males carry offspring in a brood pouch. The bookstore noted that the book is a fantasy work and that the biological detail is a standard zoological fact. Additionally, Panta Rhei disputed Tabak's claim that she purchased the entire stock of the book at their Eurovea location.
