Romania and Belgium host medical diplomacy symposium in Brussels
The Embassy of Romania in Belgium, in partnership with the World Health Organization (WHO) Regional Office for Europe, is hosting the fifth edition of the Symposium on Medical Diplomacy in Brussels on October 12-13.
This year’s symposium focuses on advancing personalized medicine and new technologies, specifically regarding governance and administration. A primary goal of the initiative is the creation of a Platform for Romanian Doctors in Belgium. This platform is intended to connect Romanian medical professionals working in Belgium with universities, hospitals, and research institutions in Romania to facilitate the exchange of expertise, joint research, and professional training.
The program includes visits to Sciensano, the Belgian federal public health institute, and the Department of Human Genetics at KU Leuven University to deepen institutional dialogue. The event aims to foster cooperation between public institutions, research centers, and healthcare professionals in both Romania and Belgium.
