Romania and Moldova address medical supply shortages

Health authorities in Romania and Moldova are addressing shortages of critical medical supplies. In Romania, the Ministry of Health has restarted the procurement process for 100,000 doses of the BCG vaccine. This follows the cancellation of a previous procedure caused by a supplier submitting incorrect pricing documentation. While current stocks include approximately 36,200 doses distributed between vaccination sites and public health warehouses, the Ministry is working to ensure children who missed vaccinations are scheduled for immunization as soon as new supplies arrive.

In Moldova, the Oncology Institute is facing a temporary shortage of the medication Interferon. Health Minister Alexandru Gasnaș confirmed the issue and announced that a new procurement procedure has been initiated. The medication is expected to arrive at the institute by September 15.
