Romania and Moldova move to strengthen data‑protection compliance ahead of new regulations
The regional development agency ADR Sud‑Vest Oltenia in Romania published a detailed GDPR notice describing how it processes personal data, the technical and organisational safeguards in place, and the rights of individuals to access, rectify, restrict or erase their information.
In Moldova, small‑ and medium‑size enterprises attended a training session organized by the National Council for Economic Empowerment and partners such as the EU, UN Women and local business groups. The event explained the upcoming Law no. 195/2024 on personal data protection, which will become effective on 23 August, outlining obligations for data collection, storage, employee access, risk mitigation and compliance checklists for businesses.
