Romania and Panama explore tourism and naval service cooperation

Mihai Daraban, Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Romania (CCIR), met with Panama's Ambassador to Romania, Javier Enrique Caraballo Salazar, to discuss expanding economic cooperation.

The discussions focused on two primary areas: tourism and naval services. Daraban identified Latin American tourism as an untapped market for Romania, noting that the current lack of offerings is a matter of supply rather than demand. He suggested utilizing the existing flight connection between Istanbul and Panama City to facilitate all-inclusive travel packages for Romanian travelers.

Ambassador Salazar highlighted Panama as a safe destination with diverse experiences in biodiversity and heritage. He noted that the Panamanian government provides support programs for small agencies to test new destinations and offers medical insurance to travelers to mitigate risks associated with long-distance travel.
