Romanian school year 2026‑2027 schedule released
The Ministry of Education announced the calendar for the 2026‑2027 school year in Romania. Classes will begin on 7 September 2026 and end on 18 June 2027, comprising 36 weeks of instruction. The schedule is divided into five teaching modules with breaks in between. Summer holidays start on 19 June 2027 and run until 5 September 2027.
Key vacation periods are: - 24 Oct – 1 Nov 2026 (autumn break) - 23 Dec 2026 – 10 Jan 2027 (winter break) - A mobile week in February‑March 2027 (dates set by local inspectorates) - 24 Apr – 4 May 2027 (spring break).
Special provisions apply to certain grades: classes for 12th‑day, 13th‑evening and reduced‑frequency students end on 4 June 2027; the 8th‑grade year finishes on 11 June 2027; all other grades conclude on 18 June 2027.
